Case Study 01

A hardware supplier preparing for a partner's retirement

Challenge

A family-run hardware business in Skudai had been operated jointly for eighteen years. The senior partner planned to retire within two years. The remaining owner had no clear plan for what would change, who would carry his responsibilities, or how decisions would be made without him.

Our Approach

We ran the Continuity Planning process across five weeks. The two sessions focused separately on operational responsibilities and ownership-level decisions. Between sessions, the owner consulted with two long-serving staff members whose roles would expand. The plan document mapped who was responsible for what, and under what conditions they should escalate.

Outcome

The transition took place over fourteen months. The business remained stable. The plan required three minor updates during that period, but the structure held. The owner continued with a Faithful Companion arrangement for the year following the transition.

Case Study 02

A catering business finding its footing after rapid growth

Challenge

A Kulai catering operator had grown from two to nine staff over three years. Revenue had increased significantly, but the owner felt she had less control over quality and less time than when the business was smaller. She was not sure what had changed or what to do about it.

Our Approach

We began with a Loyal Review that identified four specific areas where the owner's personal involvement had not been replaced by any formal process. We continued with a Faithful Companion arrangement. Monthly meetings over six months worked through each area in turn, moving slowly enough that changes could be tested before we moved to the next.

Outcome

By the end of the first year, the owner reported that she had one additional day free each week and that client complaints had dropped by roughly half. She has continued the Faithful Companion arrangement for a third year running.
